Trauma Focused Legal Representation for Unaccompanied Minors

Unaccompanied minor children are minors and youth arriving in the United States without parents or legal guardians.  For children, this can be an emotional, stressful, and traumatic situation.  There is a significant representation gap in free or low-cost legal services for children who are considered “unaccompanied” in Louisiana.

How We Help

Our staff are provided trauma-informed training to gain experience and additional knowledge when interviewing minors who have experienced significant trauma when identified as unaccompanied minors.  Our staff helps unaccompanied minors understand the intricate immigration process, laws, and rights when entering the U.S.  Staff provide unaccompanied minors with available resources, recourse, and/or relief.
